Peggy Marilley, President of Precision Meetings & Events, Inc. in Alexandria, Virginia has joined the Board of Directors of the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation.

Peggy has an extensive history of experience and accomplishments in the meeting and event planning industry and her knowledge is matched by an innovative creativity that brings her recognition on a national level.

After spending fifteen years in the hospitality industry, Peggy Marilley established Precision Meetings & Events (teamprecision.com) in 1996, as a firm specializing in producing and managing superior meetings and special events.

Peggy began her professional career working for Courtesy Associates, a well-established Washington, DC firm, founded by her aunt, the late Jane Marilley.  Following Courtesy Associates, Peggy worked for several trade organizations including the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association and Destination DC prior to founding Precision Meetings & Events.  Her well-rounded background provided the experience and skills necessary to form the foundation of a company dedicated to providing exceptional client service.

During her career in the meetings and events industry, Peggy has dedicated much of her time to serving on industry boards and committees.  She served on the Professional Convention Management Association’s Foundation Board of Trustees (PCMA) and the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE) Board of Trustees. Her work, dedication and ingenuity have been recognized in multiple professional organizations.

Peggy has a passion for the less fortunate.  In the 1990’s, she established “The Network for the Needy” a PCMA program designed to enable organizations to donate leftover food and materials from events to the disadvantaged.  Peggy was the founder of the PCMA program, “Party with a Purpose” which has contributed over $1million dollars to worthy organizations throughout the US and Canada.

Peggy is also dedicated to educating meeting professionals; especially college students enrolled in hotel and hospitality programs.  In 1991, she created an award winning and nationally recognized 3-day student educational program that has been presented during the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Annual Assembly.  These undergraduate students are enrolled in convention management programs at their college or university and agreed to work at the AAFP convention in order to receive hands on meeting experience. This student staffing model was most recently used during the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference in Washington, DC.  Due to its success, other associations and planners use this program as a model for staffing their meetings and educating future industry leaders.  It is in creating programs like these that Peggy’s professional capabilities are exhibited.

Peggy has been rewarded with high honors for work, dedication, ingenuity and accomplishments in event design and management from many industry organizations.  From GWSAE, Peggy received its distinguished Chairman’s Award.  PCMA awarded her both the Wizard Award for bringing innovation and creativity into the meetings industry and the President’s Award for her professional achievements. Most recently, Peggy was honored as a finalist for the PCMA Visionary Awards, 2017 Event Designer of the Year.   She has also been inducted into the Hospitality, Sales and Marketing Association International’s Hall of Fame for her dedication and commitment to the meetings industry.

Her professional background, industry involvement and exceptional capabilities equipped her with the skills and leadership needed to create, operate and manage a company that consistently provides unparalleled meetings and events.

Peggy has articulated a keen interest in the work of the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation and shares our passion for helping the working poor of the District of Columbia. In addition to assisting JSM with broadening our base through her wide and extensive “rolodex” amassed over the years, she will serve as Co-Chair of A CAPITAL EVENING IV and her company will produce the event.
