Nancy Roman, President and CEO of Partnership for a Healthier America, will receive the John S. Mulholland Lifetime Achievement Award at the Foundation’s 5th Annual Gala at the Capital Hilton on November 30, 2018. The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is devoted to working with the private sector to ensure the health of our nation’s youth by solving the childhood obesity crisis.

In her capacity as PHA’s President and CEO, Nancy works closely with Honorary Chair Michelle Obama and Honorary Vice Chairs, (former) Senator Bill Frist, M.D. (R-TN) and Senator Corey Booker (D-NJ).

Prior to joining PHA, Ms. Roman was President and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank and prior to that, on the leadership team of the United Nations World Food Programme. She serves on the Board of Global Communities and was named one of the Most Powerful Women in Washington by Washingtonian Magazine.

Roman has been married for 26 years to Steven Cohen, and they have two children, Daniel and Taylor Beth.

Previous awardees include Stephen Rosenberg, Founder and CEO of Greystone, Fr. John Adams, President and CEO of SOME (So Others Might Eat), and Msgr. John Enzler, President and CEO of Catholic Charities DC (@CCADW).

Nancy Roman’s leadership, passion and knowledge of the struggles of poverty, hunger, childhood obesity (and the inherent diseases resulting from), our national nutrition deficit and so many other areas has been inspirational to all concerned with this cause.
