Wake the kids and phone the neighbors; we have exciting news to share! Today, the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation passes an important milestone — 100,000 cans of food delivered and more than 3 tons of fresh produce, milk and eggs, meat and poultry.
We want to thank our amazing Board of Directors; the scores of volunteers at our three pantries and the schools, churches and corporations that have conducted food drives; and the literally thousands of folks who have partici…pated by donating a can or a dollar.
We accepted our first monetary donation on January 1, 2014 and conducted our first food drive on February 6, 2014, so we think these results are outstanding, given this relatively short period of time.
So, thanks to all who have made this dream a reality. Together, we have done a pretty great thing. We have helped hundreds of fellow Washingtonians by taking something as ordinary as a simple meal and eased the burden these folks face everyday.
Of course, we have not made a dent on the hunger crisis in the District, but we have made a nice contribution towards solving the problem in the three neighborhoods we serve. Know this: our efforts will continue as long as there is a need.
