John S. Mulholland Family Foundation’s 9th Annual Summer in the City campaign is well underway, with just under 15,000 cans and packages of non-perishable food collected in June.
We would like to thank the churches that participated in June:

- Our Lady of Victory NW (Fr. Andy Gonzalo)
Our schedule for July will take us to the following churches on the last weekend of the month:
- St. Mary Rockville
- Annunciation NW
- St. Jerome Hyattsville
- St. Thomas Apostle Woodley Park NW
In August, we will be at the following churches on the last weekend of the month:
- Holy Cross Garrett Park
- St. Bernadette Silver Spring
- Our Lady of Mercy Potomac
- Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle NW
We are still scheduling our September churches, but if you attend or live nearby one of the parishes listed above, please be a saint and drop off some canned good to help our food insecure neighbors in Washington, DC.
The items most needed are:
- Cheerios Cereal
- Canned tuna or chicken
- Canned vegetables (green beans, peas, corn)
- Canned fruit, any kind
- Canned soup, hearty varieties are the best
- Peanut butter and jelly (plastic containers only)
- Pasta (any kind) and pasta sauce (plastic or cans only)
- Macaroni and cheese/Chef Boyardee/Ready to go meals
Please, no sweets, condiments, coffee or tea, etc. We have great need for the above items.
