The Annual Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive was a great success, collecting more than 151,000 cans of food in one day — and John S. Mulholland Family Foundation was both pleased and honored to be part of it for a second year in a row.

Founded more than a quarter century ago, the Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive is a neighborhood, grassroots event on the first Saturday of December each year. Hundreds of volunteers participate and thousands contribute to this annual event, designed to stock a number of food pantries in the region, in time for the holidays.

John S. Mulholland Family Foundation was assigned a drop off location at Holy Trinity in Georgetown. There, we loaded (with the help of some amazing Holy Trinity volunteers) just under 15,000 cans of food, which were immediately delivered in three vehicles to our three pantries in Southeast and Northeast Washington.

Pictured above are Patrick Mulholland, Jay Mulholland, Brian Mulholland, Matt Mulholland and Billy Mulholland, who teamed up in memory of their father and grandfather.

Volunteers at St. Francis Xavier, Holy Name, and St. Thomas More were delighted with the delivery, each pantry receiving 5,000 cans of food!
