Our 4th Annual Summer in the City food drive has ended with fabulous results.

We collected and delivered 71,000 cans of food.

27 parishes participated:

St. Peter Olney, St. Nicholas Laurel, St. Stephen Martyr, St. Bernadette, Holy Rosary, Epiphany,
Blessed Sacrament, St. Mary Barnesville, St. Mary Rockville, St. Jerome, Resurrection, St. Francis Assisi, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Apostle, St. Gabriel, Our Lady of Mercy, Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian, St. Raphael, St. Bartholomew, St. John Neumann, St. Paul, St. Patrick Norbeck, Holy Cross, St. Michael Archangel, Holy Redeemer Kensington,  Our Lady of Grace and St. John Vianney.

We had hundreds of volunteers at the parish, delivery and receiving levels and thousands of donors.  Not only are our pantries full at St. Luke, St. Thomas More, St. Francis Xavier and Holy Name, but we were able to help outside of our mission. We delivered over 4,000 cans to St. Mary in Charles Country for their brand new pantry and delivered another 4,000 cans to Cardinal McCarrick Center in Wheaton.

It was a joyful summer of service to God’s poor among us and we are very grateful for your continued support. Hunger does not take a vacation in the District of Columbia.
